Prime Minister Modi, BJP, RSS did not embrace when lakhs of people were suffering in Manipur. Do they think that Manipur is not a part of India? Congress leader Rahul Gandhi has raised a sharp question.
Rahul Gandhi has started his 2nd phase of Bharat Jodo Yatra as the Lok Sabha elections are approaching. He has undertaken this Yatra from Manipur to Mumbai in the name of Bharat Jodo Nyaya Yatra which started on January 14 in Manipur.
The ruling BJP government initially refused to give permission for this yatra. But after strong opposition from many the Manipur government gave permission for the yatra with lots of restrictions.
First day of Rahul’s yatra
During the first day of this yatra, Rahul Gandhi addressed those people and said that “Do the PM Modi and BJP think that Manipur is not a part of India? Your pain is not perceived as theirs. But Congress can understand the misery and pain of Manipuri people and can bring peace and harmony in this state”.
Manipur violence
Manipur is a state in which huge communal calamities took place for more than 6 months and lakhs of people are still suffering in Manipur. Many heart breaking incidents like gang rape, violence, murder took place in Manipur. Particularly the nude video of a young woman who was molested by a group of men spread on the internet and put the whole country into shock.
Opposition leaders like Rahul Gandhi, Priyanka Gandhi and many others went to Manipur to console those people and extend their support to them. But the Prime Minister Narendra Modi did not visit those people and the ruling BJP government in Manipur failed to control the violence. So Rahul Gandhi took this issue and expanded his support to them.
