Ahead of the 2024 Lok Sabha polls, RJD chief Lalu Yadav is again in trouble as the ED (Enforcement Directorate) on Tuesday filled chargesheet against his wife Former Chief Minister Rabri Devi and his two daughters Misha Bharti who is a Rajya Sabha Member and Hema Yadav.
Chargesheet against Lalu’s Family
As Reported by PTI, An Alleged close Associate of RJD Chief Lalu Prasad Yadav’s family Amit Katyal, some other people and companies have been named in the prosecution complaint chargesheet. The chargesheet has been filed before a special Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA) Court in Delhi. 
This alleged scam is related to the time when Lalu Yadav was the railway minister in the UPA-1 government.
As per Allegation from 20004 to 2009, many people were appointed to Group” D” positions in various Zones of Indian Railways for which they transferred their lands to the family members of the then Railway Minister Lalu Yadav and linked A K Infosystems Private Limited as “bribes.”
Lalu’s Trouble and Political Climate in Bihar
The troubles for Lalu and his family have not come to an end. Lalu has been out of jail for some time, and his party RJD, in alliance with Nitish Kumar is in power in Bihar. The Chargesheet against his wife and Daughters clarifies that his problems are far from over.
In August 2022, the Chief Minister of Bihar Nitish Kumar severed ties with the BJP and aligned with Lalu Yadav forming a new government with the RJD. In December 2023, the Enforcement Directorate (ED) also summoned both Lalu Yadav and his son Tejashwi Yadav, who serves as Bihar’s Deputy Chief Minister, to the Land for a job scam case.
 Manoj Jha, a Member of Rajya Sabha from the RJD responded against the chargesheet by stating that the move is fully politically motivated. He asserted that it was orchestrated to harass the Lalu family. Jha also warned the BJP, stating that” the day you will lose power you also have to make rounds. Then we will feel bad for you, but you have initiated it”.
Other members of the RJD are also expressing dissatisfaction with the chargesheet against Lalu’s wife and daughters, stating this is all politics. They emphasize that the BJP should refrain from engaging in such negative political tactics.
The 2024 polls are approaching, and serious chargesheets against Lalu and his family are detrimental to his political standing. Winning in Bihar is crucial for any party in Lok Sabha polls, and these chargesheets at this time are particularly unfavorable. political tensions are escalating in Bihar.
