Charminar express from Chennai derailed near Hyderabad Nampally railway station. It is reported that more than 50 people have been seriously injured in this accident.
This Charminar Express usually departs from Chennai Central and reaches Hyderabad, the capital of Telangana. As usual the train left Chennai central railway station last night ( Jan 9). In this situation a few compartments of this Charminar express derailed while approaching Hyderabad early this morning.
How the Express derailed?
The express derailed and collided with the side wall of the platform. As it was early morning, many passengers were sleeping while it derailed. It is reported that 3 coaches including S2, S3, S6 of the express derailed. Passengers are scared and scream in fear after they experience a loud crash and jerk.
A loud crash was heard as the train carriages collided with the platform. Rescue operations have been accelerated. So the injured have been rescued and admitted in the hospitals for treatment. According to reports, there was no casualty in the accident.
Southern Railway has explained about the Charminar express accident. Accordingly, it is reported that all the passengers are safe and some people have sustained minor injuries and rescue operations are ongoing. Southern Railway also informed that intensive care is being given to the injured.
Frequent train accidents
Similarly there was a terrible train accident that happened in Odisha, last June. The Chennai Coromandel express collided with a freight train standing on the track at Bahanaga Bazar area of Balasore district. At that time, the last coaches of the Vandahowra express in the opposite direction were also involved in the accident. About 300 people died in this terrible accident. More than 1000 people were injured.
After this accident, many train accident incidents are taking place. Incidents of trains derailing and catching fire are on the rise. Thus, there is an urgent need for the authorities to wake up and take action.
