Congress leader Rahul Gandhi stopped entering the shrine in Assam on January 22. He intended to visit the Sri Sankar Dev Satra temple in Nagaon, Assam, but instead, he staged a protest outside the temple premises.

Rahul Gandhi said, “everyone else is allowed to enter the shrine, but Rahul Gandhi is not allowed.”

High Voltage Drama

The Congress leader was scheduled to pay obeisance to the local deity before starting his Bharat Jodo Nyaya Yatra on Monday. However, he claimed that he was denied entry despite holding permission for the same.

Addressing to Media Rahul asked, “what mistake I have done that I am not allowed inside the temple?”

Rahul Gandhi is currently on a Bharat Jodo Nyaya Yatra, conducting his rally in Assam. Recently, he has denied participating in the Pran Pratishtha of the Ram Mandir in Ayodhya calling it a political ceremony.

Rahul versus Biswa

On Sunday, Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma stated that Rahul Gandhi should refrain from visiting the birthplace of Srimanta Sankardeva at Batadrava on January 22 (today). He emphasized that there can be no competition between Lord Ram and the medieval-age Vaishnav saint, revered as an icon in the state.

Sarma also mentioned that commandos will be deployed along sensitive routes in minority-dominated areas, which are part of Rahul Gandhi’s Bharat Jodo Nyaya Yatra scheduled for Monday, coinciding with the consecration ceremony of the Ram temple in Ayodhya.

Rahul Gandhi accused that everyone is allowed in Mandir except him. He, along with congress members, protested by singing ‘Raghupati Raghav Raja Ram.’
