On January 13, France’s recently appointed Foreign Minister, Stephane Sejourne, reaffirmed his nation’s support for Ukraine. In a symbolic move, he selected Kyiv as the destination for his first official visit abroad. Through this move, France clearly expresses its support for Ukraine.
France prioritizes Ukraine in times of Crisis
France’s commitment to Ukraine includes a military support package of €3.2 billion, as mentioned in a parliamentary report, emphasizing its dedication, to support Ukraine. France has enhanced its support for Ukraine by supplying artillery and air defense resources.
Additionally, the country is actively engaged in negotiating a bilateral security agreement with Ukraine, aiming to offer sustained aid, reconstruction support, and
military assistance. In essence, Paris is extending comprehensive support to Ukraine in its time of need.
At a joint news conference earlier on Saturday, Sejourne assured Ukraine’s Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba. “Despite the multiplying crises, Ukraine is and will remain France’s priority.”
Zelensky wrote on X (Formerly Twitter), “I appreciate France’s unwavering defense support for our soldiers and assistance to our people.”
The Russia-Ukraine War is approaching its second anniversary
Ukraine faced another series of overnight strikes by Russia from Friday to Saturday, with Moscow intensifying its aerial attacks in recent weeks. From the past two years, the conflict between Russia and Ukraine has been ongoing. 
Currently, due to the Israel-Hamas conflict and other crisis, this war may not be in the limelight, but it doesn’t imply that people are leading peaceful lives there. Over the last two years, the residents have been struggling to achieve a sense of normalcy amid the ongoing challenges.
Amid a decrease in funds allocated to Ukraine by the EU and other agencies, France prioritizing Ukraine has become the need of the hour as and other Ukrainian officials have warned that any delay could significantly impact the progression of the war.
