In the Royal Challengers Bangalore match, UP Warriorz won the toss and chose to bowl.
Ekta Bisht made her WPL debut for RCB, making her 38-year-old debut. The opening pair for RCB was altered after Smriti Mandhana and Meghana stepped out.
Meghana faced the first ball in Grace Harris’ over, and RCB got off to an impressive start with a single on the third ball.
In the second over, Anjali Sarvani bowled, and Meghana got a boundary. The team then continued with a short ball and Meghana guided it away towards fine leg for a four.
It was followed by two singles and another boundary. The Royal Challengers Bangalore team then entered the attack, with Smriti Mandhana, Sophie Devine, Sabbhineni Meghana, Ellyse Perry, Richa Ghosh, Sophie Molineux, Georgia Wareham, Ekta Bisht, Simran Bahadur, Asha Sobhana, and Renuka Thakur Singh.
RCB scored 2–0, with a single on the third ball. In the second over, Anjali Sarvani bowled, and Meghana got a boundary. The Royal Challengers Bangalore team then took control of the over, with Smriti Mandhana hitting a full ball and hitting it straight over long on for a SIX.
Anjali Sarvani bowled, and Meghana hit a double on the first ball but didn’t get enough power in the specific shot. She then hit the ball back of the length and put away over covers for four. However, Meghana was out on the third ball, and she was caught inside the circle on the off side.
Ellyse Perry drove the first ball she faced through the gap between cover point and backward point for four. In the seventh over, Deepti Sharma was into the attack, and Smriti Mandhana pulled her first ball towards square leg for four. She then hit a double on the first three balls, but the fielder overruns and couldn’t grab the ball.
Deepti Sharma stopped midway through the runup twice in a row, resulting in two singles in the first five balls. In the final over, Deepti bowled the penultimate over, and Perry hit a superb fifty. In the final over, Perry was caught in the deep, but she managed to clear the midwicket boundary.
UP warriorz
In the first over of the cricket match, Alyssa Healy faced Renuka Thakur and Richa Ghosh. Healy struggled to time on the first three balls and was dismissed by the umpire. The game continued with Devine, who hit Kiran Navgire for the first runs on the board. Healy hit a SIX over cover, followed by another SIX over cover.
In the second over, Navgire hit Renuka for a straight hit over the bowler’s head, followed by another SIX over cover. Healy hit another SIX over cover, followed by another four and a double towards fine leg. Healy hit a boundary towards midwicket to end the over.
In the third over, Navgire hit a single over the bowler’s head, followed by another SIX over cover. Healy hit another SIX over cover, followed by another single and a double. Healy hit a boundary towards midwicket to end the over.
In the fourth over, Sophie Molineux entered the attack, and she bowled her second over, which included a single on the third ball. Athapaththu joined the party, and she smacks the ball straight down the ground for four. She also hit a boundary over the third over.
In the fifth over, Grace Harris pulled the ball fine for four, but she fell, and a brilliant catch by the keeper saved her. Healy continued her attacking display, hitting lofted cover drives for four and cutting past backward point for four.
In the sixth over, Asha Sobhana was out, and Sehrawat was caught inside the circle. Ekta Bisht, the debutant, was welcomed with a four by Deepti Sharma, and he was stumped by Healy.
In the seventh over, Deepti Sharma hit a powerful reverse sweep for four, and he ended the over with a single on the fifth. In the eighth over, Deepti found the gap between midwicket and long-on and got a boundary on the first ball.
In the ninth over, Asha bowled her final over, and Deepti found the gap between midwicket and long-on and got a boundary on the first ball. Asha took the catch herself, and the match ended 170/7 in 19 overs.
In the final over, Molineux bowled the last over, and Anjali took a single on the first ball, Khemnar ran a double on the second delivery, and neither of the batters could clear the ball. The match concluded with a 23-run win for RCB.
