Gaganyaan: India’s first crewed spacecraft
Following Russia, America and China, the Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO) is trying to send humans into space. As a result of this, Gaganyaan mission was started.
According to this project, ISRO planned to send astronauts to an orbit of 400 Km above the Earth by 2025. The astronauts will conduct research for 3 days in space. Then the spacecraft will bring them back to earth safely.
ISRO has already conducted small-scale experiments for this Gaganyaan mission such as deployment of parachutes while the spacecraft descends. Experiments have also been successfully conducted 4 times to send an unmanned spaceship carrying humans continuously into space and bring it back to earth safely.
