Diljit Dosanjh, the actor, the singer, and the rockstar, is having a blast. Following his career-launching performance under the direction of Imtiaz Ali, the actor-singer is currently touring the globe in consecutive live performances. Diljit met Justin Trudeau, the prime minister of Canada, while he was in the country recently for his upcoming performance.
Justin Trudeau Surprise and X post
In addition, Justin posted about his encounter with the artist on his X account.
Shared by Trudeau, the image shows the two of them deep in conversation with Diljit Dosanjh. Before @diljitdosanjh’s gig, I dropped by the Rogers Centre to wish him luck. If a man from Punjab can make history and sell out stadiums, then Canada is indeed a fantastic country.

Canada is a great country — one where a guy from Punjab can make history and sell out stadiums. Diversity isn’t just our strength. It’s a super power. pic.twitter.com/EYhS0LEFFl

Controversy
Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau referred to Diljit Dosanjh as a “Punjabi singer” rather than a “Indian singer.” BJP National Secretary Singh Sirsa criticized Trudeau for the mistake. “Deliberate mischief through wordplay,” as he put it.
“Let me correct this, Mr. Prime Minister—where one guy from INDIA can make history and sell out stadiums,” Sirsa stated in response to Trudeau.
He said, “your gesture of lauding a fantastic artist like Diljit has been totally overshadowed by your deliberate mischief through wordplay.”

Relations between Canada and India
These statements are made against the backdrop of strained relations between Canada and India as a result of New Delhi’s accusations that the North American nation is giving safe haven to Khalistani terrorists and Trudeau’s claim that India was involved in the murder of Khalistani leader Hardeep Singh Nijjar in Canada.
