French President Emmanuel Macron arrived in Jaipur on January 25 for a two-day visit to India, where he is set to participate as the chief guest in the 75th Republic Day parade. This visit holds significance as India gears up for the grand celebration of its 75th Republic Day.

Emmanuel Macron along with Modi will explore Jaipur

French President Emmanuel Macron has landed in India to serve as the chief guest at the Republic Day Parade scheduled for tomorrow. During their six-hour visit to the pink city, Macron and Prime Minister Modi are slated to attend a Shobha Yatra in Jaipur.

Macron and Prime Minister Narendra Modi for a tour of heritage sites, including a roadshow spanning from Hawa Mahal to Jantar Mantar.

Emmanuel visited the Amber Fort with External Affair Minister S Jaishankar and Rajasthan Deputy CM Diya Kumari. Emmanuel Macron will visit with a team that includes ministers like Stephane Sejourne, who looks after Europe and Foreign Affairs, Sebastien Lecornu in charge of Armed Forces, and Rachida Dati taking care of Culture. Also, there’s a group of important businesspeople from big and small French companies, along with notable figures like ESA astronaut Thomas Pesquet.

India-France strong ties

Emmanuel Macron’s visit to India is special because it’s the sixth time that France has been the chief guest at India’s Republic Day, more than any other country. This visit follows Prime Minister Modi’s trip to Paris for France’s Bastille Day on July 14, 2023. Macron’s visit is also a way to celebrate the 25th anniversary of the strong friendship and partnership between India and France.

India and France’s bilateral ties will strengthen through this trip. India is gearing up to welcome Macron, and in the future, both India and France are committed to maintaining their strong ties.
