The sale of Liquor and meat ban in some states on the day of Ram temple inauguration in Ayodhya, Uttar Pradesh. The inauguration of the temple will be held on January 22 at 12.20PM.
The Uttar Pradesh State Excise Department has released a press release mentioning that the idol of Ram is going to be inaugurated on January 22 in the temple built in Ayodhya, the birthplace of Ram. So the government decided that all liquor shops in the states should be closed on January 22 and people are requested to cooperate with the government’s decision.

Assam: Assam Chief Minister Hemanta Biswa Sharma has ordered a ban on the sale of liquor in the state on January 22.
Uttarakhand: Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Thami has directed all District Collectors to ban the sale of liquor in the state on January 22. He also ordered to distribute prasad in all major temples on January 22
Chhattisgarh: Chhattisgarh state has also decided to ban the sale of liquor on January 22. According to this, the State Excise Department has been instructed to enforce this decision of the government. According to the Chhattisgarh State Excise Act, 1915, Section 24, Sub-Section (1), all country liquor, foreign liquor retail shops, restaurant bars, hotel bars and all clubs in the state are ordered to close on January 22.
A special team will be set up to monitor suspicious places and vehicles to prevent the sale of illegal liquor. All District Officers have been directed to take all necessary measures to prevent illegal sale and smuggling of liquor along with local and state level flying squads.
