Although Tejashwi Yadav’s party, the RJD, faced defeat in the Bihar floor test, his impassioned speech resonated deeply with many. He fervently criticized Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, who had previously switched allegiance to form a government with the BJP. Yadav’s fiery rhetoric struck a chord with numerous observers, despite the political setback his party endured.
Tejashwi Yadav vows – “Your Nephew will ensure that Modi is defeated”
This time, the RJD chose a new strategy to defeat Nitish. Tejashwi Yadav attempted to garner sympathy from the
public by portraying how he was deceived by Nitish. He described Nitish as a father figure and expressed his disappointment at being deceived. Tejashwi was observed aggressively attacking Nitish Kumar with his words, sarcastically congratulating him for becoming Chief Minister for the ninth time and for holding the position three times within a single tenure.
He appeared deeply disheartened by Nitish’s decision to form a government with the BJP, stating that if there were any issues, they could have been resolved through dialogue. Tejashwi reminded Nitish of their shared roots in socialist ideology and declared that Nitish’s endeavors to oppose Modi in Bihar would be fulfilled by him. He promised, “Your nephew will ensure that Modi is defeated in Bihar.”
In his speech, Tejashwi talked about the increased employment opportunities in Bihar resulting from his efforts and determination. He also criticized the BJP’s approach to Bharat Ratna awards, accusing them of engaging in political bargaining with other parties for their own benefit.
Nitish counterattack
In response to these allegations, Chief Minister Nitish Kumar countered by asserting that during the regime of Tejashwi’s parents, there was “jungle raj” (lawlessness) in Bihar. He emphasized his own efforts in fostering development in the state, highlighting the strides made under his leadership.
Nitish stated that he exerted his utmost effort to unite all parties and foster cooperation within the India alliance, but unfortunately, these endeavors did not yield positive results. He reassured that he has reverted to his previous stance and will not form alliances with any party. Furthermore, he emphasized that his government would strive for the development of all individuals without bias.
