Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan has been hospitalized in Ahmedabad after suffering a heat stroke. The actor, who was in the city to support his IPL team, the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR), during their match against Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH), experienced dehydration due to the extreme heat, with temperatures reaching 45 degrees Celsius. He is currently under medical observation, but his condition is stable.
Shah Rukh Khan, known affectionately as SRK, celebrated KKR’s impressive win over SRH at the Narendra Modi Stadium on Tuesday night. Accompanied by his children, Suhana and AbRam Khan, he took a victory lap, delighting fans with his iconic open-arms pose. The official Instagram pages of KKR and the IPL shared moments from the celebration, highlighting SRK as their “lucky charm.”
Following the match, Shah Rukh began feeling unwell and was admitted to KD Hospital. His dear friend and KKR co-owner, actress Juhi Chawla, visited him at the hospital, along with her husband, Jay Mehta. SRK’s wife, Gauri Khan, was also seen arriving at the hospital shortly after the news broke. Fans expressed their concern on social media, sending well wishes and hoping for his speedy recovery.
Despite his health scare, sources close to the actor have assured that there is nothing to worry about, and he is expected to make a full recovery soon. Security around the hospital has been tightened to manage the influx of fans and media.
On the professional front, Shah Rukh Khan was last seen in Rajkumar Hirani’s film “Dunki.” His next project, tentatively titled “King,” is highly anticipated and is expected to feature his daughter, Suhana Khan. The film, produced by Siddharth Anand and Gauri Khan’s Red Chillies Entertainment and directed by Sujoy Ghosh, will reportedly see SRK in a role with shades of gray, reminiscent of his character in “Don.”
Recently, Shah Rukh mentioned his plans to return to shooting later this year. After a busy year with three major releases—”Pathaan,” “Jawan,” and “Dunki”—he took a break to focus on his IPL team. Speaking on Star Sports’ “Knight Club’s King Khan Rules,” he shared his excitement for the upcoming projects and his commitment to his team, KKR.
Shah Rukh Khan’s health update is awaited, and an official statement from the hospital is expected soon. Meanwhile, his fans and the Bollywood community continue to send their support and best wishes for his recovery.
