Pakistan’s parliamentary elections began today February 8. In view of this, the country’s Ministry of Interior has informed that the mobile internet service has been temporarily cut off across the country for security purposes.

Voting for the parliamentary elections in Pakistan started today in the midst of a tense atmosphere of violence and bomb blasts. In this election, there is a three face contest between the former Prime Minister Imran Khan’s Tehreek-e-Ahzab party, former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif’s Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz party and Pakistan People’s Party led by Bilawal Bhutto, the son of former Prime Minister Benazir Bhutto.
According to the Election Commission of Pakistan, 12,85,85,760 people are going to vote. More than 65,000 security forces have been deployed for election security. In this context, Pakistan’s former Prime Minister Imran Khan, who is lodged in Adiala Jail, cast his vote by post.
Explosion before election
As parliamentary elections are scheduled to be held in Pakistan today, a powerful bomb exploded outside the election office of independent candidate Asfandyar Khagar in Bishin city of Balochistan province yesterday afternoon by which 14 people died and 26 people were severely injured.
Internet ban
The Ministry of Interior has informed that the mobile internet service has been suspended nationwide across the country today in Pakistan due to maintain law and order security.
