OnePlus at the Mobile World Congress 2024 has announced its newest, latest flagship smartwatch, The OnePlus Watch 2.
This smartwatch is powered by two chips and two different operating systems.
The Watch 2 also claims to offer about to 100 hours of battery life, powered by the Snapdragon W5 and the BES2700. The watch aims to be one of the most smartest and powerful wearable technology, establishing its place in the podium, going against the apple watch and samsung watches.
The watch 2 also has a circular 1.43-inch display with support for touch input and the device runs on Google’s WearOS and RTOS with 2 GB of RAM and 32 GB of internal storage,the specs of their first ever smartphone showing the leap in advancement of oneplus. The device is priced at Rs 24,999 in India and will be available for purchase starting March 4 via Amazon and OnePlus India’s official website.
Samsung unveils Galaxy Ring at MWC 2024
After the initial teaser at Samsung event- Galaxy Unpacked 2024, Samsung has now finally unveiled the Galaxy Ring at Mobile World Congress 2024.
Ye,s read it right! A ring.
The company has displayed various Galaxy Ring prototypes at the venue, which will be available in multiple sizes and multiple color options,The size options will be ranging from S to XL.
The Galaxy Ring is claimed to be capable of offering multiple features like heart rate and sleep monitoring, the ring is basically a watch but in the form of a ring, and the larger rings might deliver slightly improved battery life due to bigger batteries.
The Galaxy Ring will go on sale by the end of 2024, and it is said to play well with the Galaxy Watch. Currently there is no information on the price range of the ring.
Qualcomm’s huge leap
Qualcomm at the MWC 2024 announced the world’s first large language model that can natively run on an Android smartphone with over 7 billion parameters.
This is a huge leap for android OS and Qualcomm as this can boost sales of the chip better for flagship models of companies.
To add on, Qualcomm is also now showcasing another model, which can run offline on a Windows PC.
Under the Qualcomm AI Hub, the company is now offering over 75 models, which is made optimised for the Snapdragon platform, which will also be accessible on platforms like HuggingFace and GitHub, a massive win for these companies.
Motorola’s big move for it’s smartphones
Motorola has confirmed that all the Motorola smartphones and handheld devices, starting from the 3rd quarter of 2024 will feature Corning Gorilla Glass, which aims on improving the durability of the product.
Motorola has an extensive range of smartphones covering most segments of the market. Depending on the price range, Moto is most likely to be using a different class of Gorilla Glass, maily to differentiate the price range of different models, and at the briefing.
The Motorola company has showcased a few prototypes with the Gorilla Glass 5 and the Gorilla Glass Victus 2. This development is likely to result in better display protection, especially on budget smartphones.
MediaTek ‘s new chip
MediaTek at the MWC 2024 event has announced a new chip! — T300 5G RedCap platform is for low-powered devices with support for both 5G SA and NSA technologies. This chip is meant for low-powered IoT and wearable devices like smart watches and ect.. ,and is said to offer about 78 percent lower power consumption in VoNR and about 70 per cent lower power consumption in 5G data communication, allowing for extended battery time.
