Jen Pawol becomes first woman to umpire MLB Spring Training game as she was the umpire on 23rd Feb, 2023.
This was the first time since 2007 the umpire was a woman!
it has been over 16 years since the events umpire was a woman,The last woman to do so was Ria Cortesio.
Jen Pawol made her MLB Spring Training debut at CACTI Park of The Palm Beaches and, in the process, became the first woman since 2007 to umpire such a game.

Who is she?
Jen Pawol was born in 1977 and currently works in Minor League Baseball (MLB), She made history as the only seventh women umpire, her becoming the umpire is a significant moment for women in the sports and athletics industry.
Jen Pawol states that-
“I don’t really view umpiring as a gender job, I just view it as, if you’re good at it, and you like it, you should do it.”
