IIT BHU Assault scandal: MP Mahua Moitra urges “Bulldozer action”

Mahua Moitra and the opposition demanded action against the three men accused of sexually assaulting a student of IIT-BHU on 1st November. They are constantly demanding bulldozer action which has been taken previously by the Yogi government.

Opposition Slammed Yogi Government

Mahua asked Why there was a delay in bulldozer action against the accused, “Thok Dijiye Sir”. She also posted pictures of the three accused with the UP-CM Yogi Aaditya Nath.

Opposition is demanding action from the Yogi government and asking for bulldozer action Yogi promised that if anyone behaved with women during his tenure they have to face the consequences, He said that one who misbehaves with women they have to meet with yamraj-the god of death, So opposition is making him remember his speech and asking now the accused belong to his party, that’s why any action is not taken against him, they demanded bulldozer action.

Congress party is also protesting on the road demanding action against the accused. Uttar Pradesh Congress chief Ajay Rai said his party workers would protest near PM Narendra Modi’s constituency office in Varanasi, the three accused claimed themselves to be BJP’s IT cell members. They demanded bulldozer action and also wanted the withdrawal of the case against students who protested to demand justice for the victim.

BJP’s Reaction

However, the BJP denied any association of the accused with the party at present. BJP Varanasi (Mahanagar) President Vidyasagar said that they were office bearers till November, but in November, the IT cell was dissolved and has not been reconstituted since then,” and now they don’t have any connection with BJP. The party has sidelined itself from them.

Varanasi police had arrested Kunal Pandey, Saksham Patel and Abhishek Chauhan on Saturday for the November 1 incident.

In their neighborhood, locals said the men would indulge in various incidents of “dadagiri” and they were saved every time because of their links to the BJP.

High voltage politics is going on in UP now, The Yogi government had ordered several bulldozer actions in the past, now he will do so or not will be seen in future., but the opposition is united against action against the accused and alleged Yogi of favoring them because they have connection with BJP.

Strict action should be taken against them so that in future we don’t have to see these incidents however it raises questions on our system if the students of reputed BHU are not safe, then women’s condition is horrible.

The system should make sure the safety of women.
