Around 3,300 kg of narcotics were seized from a small boat near Porbandar in Gujarat in a raid by the Indian Navy and the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB). The officials said that this is the highest number of drugs seized in recent years.
Joint raid in a boat in sea
Indian Navy raided a small boat along with NCB on 27 February in Gujarat, in which they seized 3,089 kg of Charas, 158 kg of Methamphetamine and 25 kg of Morphine. The officials arrested five people from Pakistan who were on the boat during the raid. The total value of the seized drug is yet to be determined but it is expected that the international value of these drugs are very high. It is noteworthy that the international market value of one kg of Charas is Rs.7 crore.
Regarding this, Indian Navy said that they detected a small boat suspiciously parked near Porbandar Sea by a surveillance aircraft. Following this, a ship was diverted to investigate boat which was suspected drug smuggling boat. Then a large scale of Narcotics were seized from that small boat by the joint effort of both Indian Navy and Narcotics Control Bureau. After this the seized drugs were handed over to the Enforcement Directorate at the Indian port.
