Greek Prime Minister Kyirakos Mitsotakis visited India on a two-day trip from 21 February to 23 February.
This is the first such visit by a Greek leader coming India in the past 16 years. This marks a significant step in strengthening bilateral relations between two countries.

The Greek Prime Minister received a warm welcome upon arrival in New Delhi and had extensive talks with Prime Minister Narendra Modi. It is reported that they talked about trade, maritime cooperation, global geopolitics, Gaza war, security, defense and many other things.
During this meet the two leaders shared their commitments to expand bilateral trade and investment to explore various opportunities in the renewable energy, tourism and pharmaceutical sectors.
Both the leaders exchanged their views on global challenges like climate, terrorism and Gaza conflicts. The Greek Prime Minister emphasized that India & Greece should preserve the peace project despite the destabilizing situation for India-Middle-East-Corridor (IMEC) because of the Israel – Gaza war. Both the Prime Ministers discussed strengthening security and defense especially in the maritime domain.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi shared that, “This meet with Greek PM Kyirakos Mitsotakis marks a new chapter in our relationship with Greece. We share a common heritage and values, and we are committed to working together to address the challenges of the 21st century.

Similarly, the Greek Prime Minister shared about his visit that,”I am impressed by the dynamism and progress of India. We have immense potential to collaborate in various fields and I am confident that this visit will pave the way for a stronger and more fruitful partnership”.
