In the first phase ahead of the Lok Sabha elections, the Congress party has appointed election committees for 8 states.
Congress leader Kharge approved the proposal to set up the committee for election and Political Affairs in 8 states like Rajasthan, Kerala, Telangana, Chhattisgarh, Himachal Pradesh, Nagaland, Manipur and Tripura. Also permission has been given to set up Madhya Pradesh.

Govind Singh Dodasra has been appointed as the President of Rajasthan State PCC (Pradesh Congress Committee) and Chief Minister Ashok Khelat is also a member. Mahendrajeet Singh Malviya, Mohan Prakash, CP Joshi, Harish Chaudhary, Ramlal Jat, Pramod Jain Bhiya, Pratap Singh Kachariyawas, among others, are part of this group. Apart from them, Youth Congress President, NSUI President, Sevadal Chief Coordinator, Pradeshiya Mahila Congress President are also appointed as members.
Sudhakar appointed as Chairman of Congress for Kerala state. Senior leaders AK Antony, KC Venugopal, Ramesh Chennithala, Vayalar Ravi, VD Satheeshan, K Suresh, Sasi Tharoor, Mullapally Ramachandran and others are members. Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy has been announced as the president, Deputy Chief Minister Patio Vikramarka Mallu, Uttam Kumar Reddy and Hanumantha Rao are members of this committee. Pradeepa Singh has been appointed as the President of Himachal. Similarly, the Congress Party has also set up a political affairs committee in Madhya Pradesh headed by Jitendra Singh.
Deepak Baij has been appointed as the Chairman of state Congress for Chhattisgarh Election. It will have former Chief Minister Bhupesh Bagel and former Deputy Chief Minister DS Singh Deo as members along with Charan Das Mahant and Tamratwaj Sahu. K Meghachandra Singh has been appointed as the Chairman of the Divisional Election Committee in Manipur. S Subongmeran Jameer has been appointed as the Chairman of theCongress in Nagaland Divisional Election and Ashish Kumar Saha as the Chairman of Congress for the Tripura Division.
