Delhi, New: The Indian Olympic Association (IOA) will get Rs 8.5 crore in funding for the Paris Olympics athletes’ campaign, a significant announcement made by the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) on Sunday. The first day of the Paris Games is July 26. India will send up to 117 competitors to the Olympics in Paris. There will be a total contingent of 257 people, including 140 support personnel.
It gives me great pleasure to declare that the @BCCI would provide assistance to our amazing athletes who will represent India in the 2024 Paris Olympics. For the campaign, we are giving the IOA INR 8.5 Crores,” BCCI secretary Jay Shah said on his “X” account.

Twenty-four military people, including two female competitors and master javelin thrower Neeraj Chopra, are among the 117 Indian athletes who will compete in the 2024 Summer Olympics in Paris. According to a statement released by the ministry of defense on Saturday, the inclusion of these two female athletes in the contingent is the first time that female service athletes have competed in the Olympics. Chopra, the gold champion from the 2020 Tokyo Olympics, is an Indian Army subedar.
