The Ambani family is gearing up for the wedding of Anant Ambani, son of Reliance Industries Chairman Mukesh Ambani, and Radhika Merchant, daughter of Encore Healthcare CEO Viren Merchant. Wedding preparations have commenced in Jamnagar, and the pre-wedding celebrations are scheduled to kick off from March 1, 2024.
Lavish pre-wedding rituals
The festivities in Jamnagar commenced with the traditional lagan lakhvanu ceremony held last week. In this customary Gujarati ritual, the official wedding invitation is initially presented to the deities to seek their blessings before being dispatched to the invited guests.
According to various news sources, a star-studded guest list is anticipated for the upcoming wedding of Anant Ambani and Radhika Merchant, with luminaries such as Microsoft founder Bill Gates and Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg rumored to attend. Recently, Bollywood icon Shah Rukh Khan was spotted in Jamnagar, Gujarat, where he reportedly made preparations for the pre-wedding festivities. 
All guests will be transported to Jamnagar via chartered flights departing from either Mumbai or Delhi. Multiple flights are scheduled to ferry attendees between 8 am and 1 pm from each city on March 1st.
The Ambani’s Grand Celebration
Earlier, Reliance Foundation posted a video on the social media platform Instagram, showcasing women from Gujarat curating Bandhini scarves for the wedding. Nita Ambani, the founder and chairperson of Reliance
Foundation, was also featured in the video.
Anant and Radhika exchanged vows in a traditional ceremony held in Mumbai on January 19, 2023. True to their style, the Ambani’s spared no expense. For perspective, Anant’s sister Isha Ambani’s lavish wedding in 2018, valued at a staggering 7 billion rupees, remains the epitome of opulence in Indian weddings, featuring a memorable performance by Beyoncé.
